A Clinical Diagnostics Division, which operates the company'sCLIA/CAP
laboratory and services oncology practices and hospitals to provide comprehensive diagnostic services for their patient samples, and the Diagnostic Products Division, which develops, produces, and sells proprietary diagnostic products to laboratories. .Responsibilities:
Process and analyze samples received and logged by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); Ensure accurate and timely handling of all samples and appropriate documentation is completed; Performs routine testing, quality control, calibration, maintenance and proficiency testing in accordance with current laboratory procedures. Perform complex molecular-based procedures with a high degree of quality and in accordance with established protocols; Produce and maintain applicable data recording as required by following established guidelines, review data for accuracy and completeness, ensure data is properly documented and entered to file; Work closely with other lab staff to ensure research, development and laboratory schedules are maintained, cross-train and perform various laboratory tasks as requested by laboratory management; Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning/sanitization and calibrations on laboratory equipment, following established internal guidelines and operator's manual instructions for each piece of equipment. Ensure all equipment is in working order, provide troubleshooting and technical assistance to meet or exceed laboratory timelines; Assist in the development and validation of new or improved assays; Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks as requested to ensure business and customer needs are met. Maintain and update associated process documentation, participate in continuous process improvements and expense reductions, and ongoing training as required.Required Qualifications:
Master's or bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution, and/or Certified medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists MLS(ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT) or equivalentSkills and Abilities Required:
Demonstrate accurate pipetting technique using oxford pipettes (single-channel, multi-channel) and repeater pipette Exhibit knowledge and proper use of aseptic technique Strong communication skills for positive interaction with staff and clients Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Work with mathematical concepts involving concentrations, dilutions and statistics. Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret a variety of technical instructions. General familiarity with computers to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Products. Learn new software as applicable for specific instruments and analysis. Able to multi-task efficiently under time pressure Able to work as a teamPreferred Qualifications:
