Responsibilities Support physical therapists by preparing treatment areas, equipment, and supplies for therapy sessions. Assist with patient transfers using proper patient transfer methods to ensure safety and comfort. Provide hands-on support during therapy sessions, including manual handling and assisting with exercises under supervision. Monitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising therapist to inform ongoing treatment plans. Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, intake assessments, and progress notes while respecting patient confidentiality. Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including CPR certification requirements, during all patient interactions. Facilitate effective communication with patients to promote engagement, comfort, and understanding of their rehabilitation process. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy and rehabilitation care. Proven experience supporting patient service and delivering compassionate patient care in hospital or outpatient settings. Familiarity with inpatient, outpatient, orthopedic, geriatrics, and post-acute care environments. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and manage physically demanding tasks associated with rehabilitation assistance. Skilled in patient transfer methods and mobility assistance techniques to promote safety during movement. Excellent client communication skills to effectively educate patients about their treatment plans. Experience working within hospital medicine or clinic environments, demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
