Monday•Friday (8:00 AM•5:00 PM) Education, Experience and Skill Requirements Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in an engineering or related science degree program accepted by TX PELS. Application of engineering fundamentals. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively as part of the team. Ability to follow applicable safety standards, practices, and procedures. Ability to work in person, not remote. Primary Job Duties Apply basic engineering principles and methods to a variety of engineering tasks under supervision. Learn to review plats, subdivision designs and site development plans. Gather basic data and assist with routine statistical analysis. Compile information from records and other archival materials. Learn to investigate and respond to public complaints on roadways, signals, signs, striping, drainage, and other traffic-related issues. Develop spreadsheets and other electronic documents. Participates in career development activities offered by the County. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. •After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicant must pass a drug screen (1/2 cost = $20.00, responsibility of applicant) and may need a physical agility test (1/2 cost = $22.50, responsibility of applicant) before becoming an employee of Montgomery County.
