YOUR ROLE
As a Failure analysis technician your role is to support Failure analysis Engineers on several failure analysis activities corresponding to Non-destructive verification, Sample preparation and Physical Analysis. In this role the candidate will be working close to the Failure Analysis Engineer and will be exposed to some of the following failure analysis tools and techniques depending on the need of the lab:
  • Non-Destructive Inspection tools like, Optical/IR Microscopes , X-ray inspection (2D/3D), Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (SAM).
  • Sample Preparation tools and techniques such as Reballing, Integrated Circuit (IC) Package reconditioning, IC Re-packaging using bonder, IC Package Decapsulation, Package Backside Preparation tools.
  • Physical Analysis tools and techniques such as mechanical polishers, Ion-Miller, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) inspection, Focused Ion Bean Cross sections (using FIB/Plasma FIB) The candidate should be proficient in the following areas:
  • The candidate should be able to perform data analysis as needed and produce technical reports.
  • The candidate will be exposed to tool administration.
  • The candidate should possess good communication skills.
  • The candidate should able to work in a team environment.
  • The candidate should be able to work comfortably in the Chemical lab environment.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
  • Associate Degree or Certification in Engineering technician discipline is preferred.
  • 1 to 2 Years of work experience in a technician role.
  • IC Failure Analysis technician experience is a plus.
  • Should be proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
