Job Description
Position Summary The Physicals Department employee is responsible for assisting with the completion of well-child and physical examinations. This position requires attention to detail, good communication with parents and patients, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy pediatric clinic. Duties & Responsibilities Greet patients and parents and prepare them for the physical examination process. Ask and document all required physical, developmental, social, and health-related screening questions accurately. Review the patient's growth chart , including height, weight, BMI, and other age-appropriate measurements, and identify information that requires provider review. Perform hearing screenings/testing according to clinic procedures. Ensure parents/guardians complete all required paperwork, questionnaires, and screening forms before the physical is completed. Review paperwork for missing answers, signatures, dates, or other required information. Grade/score required screening forms and questionnaires according to clinic guidelines. Make sure any failed or abnormal screening results are brought to the provider's attention for review. Ensure required forms are reviewed and signed by the provider when applicable. Accurately document completed screenings, testing, and required information in the patient's medical record. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Keep the Physicals Department organized, clean, and properly stocked. Communicate with other departments to ensure patients move through the clinic efficiently. Follow all clinic policies, procedures, and provider instructions.
