About the Position We are looking for a motivated, dependable Rehab Specialist / Complex Rehab Technician to join our growing DME team and work alongside our Assistive Technology Professional (ATP). This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with people, solving problems, working with medical equipment, and being part of a hands-on team. The Rehab Specialist will assist the ATP with complex rehabilitation equipment, including custom manual and power wheelchairs, seating systems, mobility equipment, and other assistive technology. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, comfortable working with patients and caregivers, and eager to learn the clinical and technical aspects of complex rehab. Key Responsibilities Assist the ATP with evaluations, measurements, fittings, and equipment trials. Assist with the selection and configuration of complex rehab mobility equipment. Take accurate measurements and document patient-specific equipment needs. Assist with wheelchair seating and positioning adjustments. Help assemble, modify, adjust, and troubleshoot complex rehabilitation equipment. Assist with wheelchair deliveries, fittings, and follow-up appointments. Make equipment adjustments in the patient's home, facility, or clinical setting as needed. Work directly with patients, caregivers, therapists, and healthcare providers in a professional and compassionate manner. Assist with obtaining measurements, photographs, documentation, and other information needed for insurance authorization. Help maintain accurate documentation and equipment records. Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, therapists, and the ATP to resolve equipment issues. Learn and understand DME/complex rehab products, Medicare and insurance requirements, and proper documentation. Maintain company vehicles, tools, demonstration equipment, and inventory in an organized condition. Provide excellent customer service and follow through with patients from evaluation through delivery and follow-up. Perform other duties related to DME operations and complex rehabilitation as needed. What We're Looking For Experience in DME, complex rehab, durable medical equipment, medical equipment, physical rehabilitation, or a related field is preferred but not required. Experience with wheelchairs, mobility equipment, seating systems, or assistive technology is a plus. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use basic hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions. Comfortable learning new equipment, technology, and manufacturer-specific products. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, patient, and compassionate approach when working with individuals with disabilities. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Ability to travel locally to patient homes, facilities, clinics, and other locations. Ability to safely lift, move, and transport DME equipment. Physical Requirements This is a hands-on position. The Rehab Specialist must be able to: Lift and move wheelchairs and other medical equipment. Assist with loading and unloading equipment from company vehicles. Bend, kneel, reach, and work in various positions while adjusting equipment. Safely maneuver equipment in homes, medical facilities, and other environments. Perform hands-on equipment assembly and modifications. Why Join Our Team?
