  • PENDING CONTRACT AWARD
  • The Engineering Aide (Intern) at the Potomac River Test Range (PRTR) will support engineering teams through a variety of tasks and responsibilities crucial to project success. This position performs a myriad of important functions that help streamline engineering processes and ensure that projects run efficiently and effectively. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works closely with Data Acquisition and Analysis engineers, takes on tasks that range from administrative support to hands-on involvement in project planning and execution
  • Assists Data Acquisition and Analysis engineers in designing, testing, and maintaining systems and equipment
  • Collects and analyzes data, prepares reports and presentations
  • Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and performs tests as directed
  • Organizes and maintains engineering documents and records
  • Provides technical support to other departments as required
  • Assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment
  • Provides general administrative support to the engineering team as needed
  • Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current enrollment, in good standing, with an accredited college or university in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for success in a T&E team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Demonstrated ability to use common laboratory equipment and tools
  • Proficiency in data entry and basic data analysis Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in a laboratory or field-test environment or with the concepts of T&E
  • Familiarity with engineering standards and tools Physical Qualifications
  • The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment
  • Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time
  • Must be capable of lifting 25 lbs. unassisted

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions
