Job Description
Overview:
New England Research, Inc. (NER) is seeking a scientist or engineer. The person must have a strong background in geoscience, physical science and/or engineering and would be expected to support new projects in the fields of experimental petrophysics, geomechanics, geophysics, reservoir characterization and/or reservoir engineering.Primary Functions:
Perform laboratory testing of rocks at elevated pressure and temperature. Process data for review and reporting in collaboration with other NER technical staff. Reduce data for review and reporting with other NER technical staff. Perform occasional offsite equipment maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and training.Preferred Skills:
Strong skills in laboratory testing of rocks at elevated temperature and pressure. Familiar with corporate best practices and safe operation of complex testing equipment. Experience in testing of unconventional and/or conventional reservoirs. Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly and efficiently with customers and other staff members. Highly self-motivated problem-solver capable of working with little direct supervision. Strong background in mechanics of material preferred. Experience in ultrasonic velocity, permeability, electrical propertiesAbout NER:
