Job Description Job Summary Performs a variety of medical physics responsibiities including oversight for the physics/dosimetry area of the department; development of techniques used to standardize and calibrate imaging and therapy equipment; performs treatment planning for special cases; assists staff with simulations, treatments, and special device fabrication upon request; performs acceptance testing, measurements, commissioning and ongoing quality assurance testing fo linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, and other equipment; maintains quality assurance files for state inspections. Responsibilities Assumes responsibility for general oversight of physics/dosimetry. Coordinates treatment planning processes and other procedures as indicated. Oversees quality control measures. Participates in Performance Improvement and radiation safety activities. Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department. Completes assigned goals. Specifications Experience Minimum Required ABR certified; 5 years experience; previous Chief Physicist experience in hospital-based Radiation Oncology program Preferred/Desired ABR certified; 5 years experience; previous Chief Physicist experience in hospital-based Radiation Oncology program Education Minimum Required Masters Degree Preferred/Desired Masters Degree Training Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Special Skills Minimum Required Advanced computer literacy skills. Leadership skills; excellent communicator; detail oriented Preferred/Desired Advanced computer skills; Leadership skills; excellent communicator; detail-oriented Licensure Minimum Required ABR;BLS
