This role ensures safe, precise cancer treatments through equipment calibration, QA, treatment planning support, and radiation safety compliance. The senior physicist will collaborate closely with oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists, lead complex clinical initiatives, and mentor junior staff. Responsibilities Provide clinical medical physics support for radiation oncology services, ensuring safe and accurate treatment delivery Perform machine calibrations, quality assurance, and commissioning of radiation therapy equipment and treatment planning systems Participate in treatment planning, dose calculations, and chart checks for complex cancer cases Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accrediting body regulations and radiation safety standards Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to optimize patient-centered treatment plans Lead or mentor junior physicists and technical staff, supporting education and professional development Contribute to clinical research, technology evaluation, and implementation of advanced treatment techniques Maintain detailed documentation, reports, and records related to physics procedures and equipment performance Required Skills Radiation therapy physics Treatment planning systems (e.g., Eclipse, Ray Station, or similar) Linear accelerator calibration and QAImaging and image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) Stereotactic radiosurgery/radiotherapy techniques Radiation safety and regulatory compliance Medical device commissioning and acceptance testing Data analysis and dosimetry measurement Clinical documentation and reporting Team collaboration within radiation oncology
