Job Description

Vigilant Healthcare Solutions is seeking a skilled Therapeutic Medical Physicist for a full-time, long-term contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Medical Physicists and Radiation Oncology Physicists looking to work in a high-quality clinical environment alongside a collaborative radiation oncology team. Therapeutic Medical Physicist Responsibilities Design, optimize, and technically evaluate radiation treatment plans, ensuring precise and accurate radiation delivery and radiation protection for patients and staff Provide consultation to the Radiation Oncologist during treatment planning and simulations; be present at the treatment machine for SBRT/SRS and IGRT patient setups Specify and independently review monitor-unit and treatment-time calculations Perform weekly and end-of-course chart reviews for patients undergoing radiation treatment Perform dosimetry, beam modeling, and periodic equipment testing and documentation per AAPM standards Support brachytherapy procedures, including ultrasound-guided prostate volume studies, seed placement, and pre/post-implant dosimetry Develop and maintain a Quality Management Program for dosimetry systems, including annual written reports Administer and monitor treatment planning and image-guidance system networks in coordination with the facility's informatics team Therapeutic Medical Physicist Requirements Board Certified in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) Master's degree or PhD in Medical Physics or a related field Minimum of 2 years of continuous, relevant working experience within the last 3 years Experience with Elekta linear accelerators, Cone Beam CT/IGRT, RayStation treatment planning and Mosaiq record & verify systems, IMRT QA, and CT simulation (TG-142, TG-53, TG-66 standards) Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative radiation oncology team Schedule Full-time | Monday-Friday, staggered shift coverage between 8:00 AM and 6:30 PM On-site presence required during clinical hours at least 50% of the time No on-call coverage required (occasional after-hours work for machine maintenance/calibration, paid at hourly rate) Long-term contract opportunity (base year plus up to 4 option years) Job Highlights Long-term contract stability (base year plus four option years) No on-call requirement Work with advanced radiation oncology technology, including SBRT/SRS, IGRT, and brachytherapy Collaborative, team-oriented clinical setting Why Join Vigilant Healthcare Solutions?
