POSITION

Postdoctoral Fellow. The Department of Educational Foundations, Leadership, and Technology in the College of Education at Auburn University is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in Educational Research, Methods, and Analysis (ERMA) within Educational Psychology. This is a full-time, 18-month, primarily instructional appointment beginning in Spring 2027. The Postdoctoral Fellow will support the delivery and continuity of the ERMA instructional sequence, with an anticipated teaching load of three graduate-level courses per semester.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Postdoctoral Fellow in Educational Research, Methods, and Analysis will provide rigorous and relevant graduate-level instruction in research methods, data analysis, measurement, statistics, evaluation, and related areas. The position is designed to meet immediate instructional needs in the ERMA sequence and to support consistent, preferably in-person delivery of foundational methods coursework that serves graduate students across programs in the College of Education. The appointment is primarily instructional. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute immediately to undergraduate and graduate research methods course offerings, assist with instructional and program support activities, and engage in limited research or scholarly activities as workload permits. We are especially interested in candidates who can maintain the rigor of the ERMA sequence, support student learning, and contribute to high standards of academic excellence in research methods education. Responsibilities

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach undergraduate and graduate-level ERMA courses, with an anticipated teaching load of three courses per semester.

Support the delivery and continuity of the ERMA instructional sequence, particularly research methods courses that are preferably offered in person.

Assist with instructional and program support activities as needed, including course coordination, updating instructional materials, and supporting student learning.

Contribute to consistent and rigorous instruction in research methods, data analysis, measurement, statistics, evaluation, and related areas.

Engage in limited research and scholarly activities as workload permits, recognizing that the primary purpose of the position is instructional support.

Participate in professional service or institutional service as assigned by the department head.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Earned doctorate in Educational Psychology, Research Methodology, Evaluation, Statistics, Measurement, Educational Research, or a closely related field by the time of appointment.

Demonstrated ability or strong potential for excellence in undergraduate and graduate-level instruction in research methods, statistics, measurement, evaluation, or related coursework.

Evidence of preparation to teach applied research methods coursework, preferably in an in-person or hybrid graduate instructional environment.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the term of employment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience teaching or assisting with undergraduate and graduate-level research methods, data analysis, statistics, measurement, evaluation, or related courses.
  • Preparation to support introductory and intermediate ERMA coursework serving students across College of Education graduate programs.
  • Experience with applied, interactive, and scaffolded approaches to teaching research methods or data analysis.
  • Ability to teach in person and support continuity across an instructional sequence.
  • Experience coordinating course materials, updating instructional resources, or supporting student learning.

Potential for limited scholarly engagement or collaboration in educational research methods, measurement, evaluation, or related areas.
