Job Description
Overview:
Delaware's Largest Cancer Treatment Group- Medical Oncology Hematology Consultants, Newark, DE We are a private practice comprised of 11 physicians and 10 APPs.
SCOPE:
Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities Maintains patient data files in an organized manner for easy retrieval and review. Collects patient data from initial patient contact through course of therapy, rehabilitation, and long-term care. Assists with scheduling consultations, diagnostic tests or procedures, and future appointments for patients with physicians as requested. Prepares patient records for audits by regulatory, accrediting, and research organizations. Maintains supplies, drugs and storage facilities for clinical research as appropriate. May enter some pertinent data in computer system in a timely manner as outlined by department guidelines. May assist physicians and nurses with direct patient care including vital signs and assisting in procedures. May assist with collecting and processing specimens for research purposes.Qualifications:
Minimum Job qualification (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Education/Training- High school diploma or equivalent required 1 year medical office experience, oncology experience preferred Business Experience
- Experience in Microsoft Office Experience with computer data entry and database management preferred Specialized Knowledge/Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organizational skills Attention to details and accuracy
Working Conditions:
Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.)- Traditional clinic office environment.
- Large percent of time performing computer based work is required.
