Research Technician Classification Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Primary Responsibilities Main duties will involve hands-on laboratory work, including: Mouse colony management (scheduled feeding, breeding, genotyping, and general animal care) Tissue harvesting Protein detection assays (western blots and immunofluorescence) Molecular cloning Histology Tissue culture Additional Responsibilities Essential to our lab's organization and operations, including: Maintaining clean and organized lab areas Managing ordering and supply inventories Creating and updating spreadsheets and other lab documents.
Expected Salary:
$17.00
•19.00 per hour based on experience and skills
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Please ask references to comment on lab/research experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required. Requires strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions with a good work ethic.
Preferred:
Full-time work schedule preferred, but will consider a part-time work schedule. Experience in these techniques is highly desirable: Basic knowledge of genetics and cell biology Basic knowledge in molecular biological and histological procedures and techniques, including tissue sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and fluorescence microscopy, is appreciated A background in mouse husbandry and tissue dissections would be a plus.
