This role works closely with research pharmacists, clinical research coordinators, investigators, and sponsors to ensure proper handling, preparation, dispensing, storage, and accountability of study medications at the clinical research site. Responsibilities Receive, verify, store, and maintain inventory of investigational drugs, including temperature-controlled products (ambient, refrigerated, frozen) and hazardous drugs, following protocol-specific requirements and USP standards. Prepare and compound investigational medications (sterile and non-sterile), including IV admixtures, oral doses, and topical formulations, with strict adherence to aseptic technique, USP / , and protocol blinding/randomization procedures. Dispense study medications to research participants or study staff per protocol, maintaining accurate chain-of-custody documentation.

Perform drug accountability tasks:

track receipt, usage, returns, destruction, and reconciliation; maintain detailed logs, temperature monitoring records, and IP accountability forms for monitor visits and audits. Label medications accurately, including participant-specific labeling, randomization codes (when unblinded), and expiration dating.

Assist with study start-up activities:

review protocols, prepare study binders, set up IP storage areas, and participate in site initiation visits (SIVs) and monitor visits as needed. Support sponsor/CRO monitor visits by preparing source documents, IP logs, and storage areas for inspection. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the research pharmacy area, including calibration and monitoring of equipment (refrigerators, freezers, incubators, laminar flow hoods). Enter data into electronic systems (e.g., EMR, inventory software, or trial management systems) for concomitant medications, drug accountability, and billing as required. Assist with protocol deviations, temperature excursions, or IP complaints in collaboration with the research pharmacist. Participate in sponsor-required training, GCP refreshers, protocol-specific training, and site SOPs. Provide coverage and backup support for routine pharmacy operations when needed. Experience Must speak English!!!!!! High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication handling, and aseptic technique. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow strict protocols and documentation requirements. Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
