Research Data Collection:
Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures; Analyze results of experiments and procedures using manual or computer techniques and, if necessary, develop special computer programs to facilitate analysis.
Articles:
Compose articles for publication in scientific journals; review articles prepared by others.
Supervisor Duties:
Advise principal investigators, other postdocs, students and other research personnel on research techniques, procedures and other technological aspects of research activities. Will assist the PI with supervision of undergraduate students and graduate students.
Experiments:
Will perform experiments using acute and chronic stress models, transgenic mouse models and high-fat diet model, performing behavioral tests evaluating depression, anxiety, PTSD, learning and memory. Coordinate and participate in research of scientific literature; summarize and evaluate findings; develop derivative applications of techniques developed by own research activities or reported by other research projects.
Other:
Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and two years of experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory, particularly clinical trial research. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned with a minimum of five years' research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. SKILLS Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

Pay Band:
B9 Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
