Job Description
Description The Ph.D. in Global Leadership program welcomes applications for one Pomeroy Graduate Assistant Global Engagement and Belonging who will report to the Director of the Ph.D. in Global Leadership program and the Associate Vice President, People and Cultural Strategy. The Pomeroy Graduate Assistant Global Engagement and Belonging supports the Ph.D. in Global Leadership program and the Office of People, Success, and Opportunity across five core areas: faculty research and data support, cultural immersion and study abroad logistics, program and student engagement, campus-wide belonging initiatives (spanning staff, faculty, and students at all levels), and general program operations, communications, and representation. The application process is competitive, and the selected Pomeroy Graduate Assistant will receive half tuition benefits for the academic year. The Pomeroy Graduate Assistant must be enrolled as a full-time Ph.D. in Global Leadership doctoral student for the duration of the position. Pomeroy Graduate Assistant positions are 10 months between August - June (with one month off, agreed upon with the supervisors). The hours worked and position benefits can vary up to/between 10- 15 hours per week depending upon the needs and may include evenings and/or weekends. Those selected are eligible to re-apply each year, but the position may or may not be available, may or may not change in structure, and continues to be competitive. The positions are open to all Ph.D. in Global Leadership doctoral students with the exception of those entering their dissertation stages. The Pomeroy Graduate Assistant Global Engagement and Belonging position supports the program across research, cultural immersion, engagement, and belonging efforts. Responsibilities may include the following, as needed: Research & Data Assist with faculty research: participant recruitment, data collection/coding, and analysis/reporting from various sources. Support doctoral program development through accurate, timely market research. Cultural Immersion & Study Abroad Support faculty-led and virtual study abroad initiatives (pre/post assessments, marketing materials, SharePoint content, student promotion). Enhance visibility of the program's international education and cultural immersion offerings. Program & Student Engagement Build a master doctoral engagement plan and calendar of events for the academic year, adjusting as needed. Develop training sessions and networking opportunities in collaboration with the Director, including vendor/logistics coordination. Moderate virtual speaker sessions and represent the program at new student orientation, GLEE, and other engagement events. GLEE in the spring is required to attend in-person. Belonging Drive the Belong Initiative for students, faculty, and staff across the campus community. Lead the Real Connection Initiative, connecting students with mentors nationally. Serve as liaison to the Campus Community Belonging Council on inclusion and mission initiatives. Representation, Communications & Administration Serve as Ph.D. Student Ambassador at the Global Leadership Engagement Event (GLEE) (required spring on-campus attendance). Represent the program as a model student/promoter at internal and external events, including marketing opportunities (virtual). Maintain the program's SharePoint for the Ph.D. in Global Leadership program. Participate in networking, training, and program-planning discussions. Perform other related duties as assigned. Student membership to the International Leadership Association is provided for one-year on behalf of the Ph.D. in Global Leadership program.
