Research Associate About the Opportunity Duties The full-time Research Associate will play a key role in the Defense Industrial Base Institute's ongoing quantitative and qualitative research projects. The successful candidate will support the Institute's leadership in research management, and will function as a core member of the Research Team. The role demands a team player, who can participate in diverse research projects that may include: analyzing the social, economic, and physical characteristics of communities to identify priority areas for targeted investment; workforce development analysis; advanced manufacturing research, and capital activation support. Company Description The Defense Industrial Base Institute (DIBI) of Northeastern University is a solutions engine for the defense industrial base. We combine coalition building with rigorous research and capital activation to drive systemic transformation, moving beyond traditional think tank models to catalyze high-impact, lasting change across the defense ecosystem. Work Hours (40 hrs/week) between the hours of 8:30am-5:30pm (Monday-Friday). Some travel may be required Requirements Ability to participate in quantitative and qualitative time-sensitive research projects, to include research design, data collection, analysis, synthesis, and reporting Experience conducting interdisciplinary research required; experience conducting industrial base research (supply chain resilience, capital activation, workforce development, advanced manufacturing and procurement agility) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong note-taking abilities and proofreading and editing skills Experience synthesizing large amounts of information into concise briefings or other written and oral presentations Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize deadlines Ability to stay focused and excel with minimal supervision High level of professionalism Microsoft Office proficiency ArcMAP GIS experience preferred, but not required U.S. citizenship is required per federal agency Position Type Temporary Additional Information Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer.
