Postdoctoral Research Associate - Program in
Latin American Studies Location:
Princeton, New Jersey Salary Range or Pay Grade:
$65,000 a year for postdoctoral research associate rank; $72,000 - $75,000 per year for Associate Research Scholar rank Description The Program in Latin American Studies (PLAS) is seeking candidates from any discipline who are engaged in scholarly research on topics related to Latin American Studies, including the Caribbean and Brazil, to fill Postdoctoral Research Associate or more senior research positions. Although the call is open, scholars working on policy and public health, the history of disease, international relations, or economic development in the region are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates will be expected to devote themselves to research and writing and may teach not more than one undergraduate course per semester. When teaching, successful candidates will carry the additional part-time rank of Lecturer, and any teaching opportunities are subject to sufficient enrollmens and the approval of the Dean of the Faculty. Postdoctoral associates are expected to participate regularly in the scholarly and academic activities of the program. The term of appointment is based on rank. Positions at the postdoctoral rank are for a 12-month term during the 2027-2028 academic year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding; those hired at more senior ranks may have multi-year appointments. Start date is around September 1, 2027. The work location for these positions is in-person on campus at Princeton University. These positions are subject to the Universityâ™s background check policy.
