Clinic Research Assistant Summary:
Individual assists the research nurse/coordinator in conducting clinical trials. The research assistant is responsible for collecting, processing storing and handling clinical specimens, scheduling study patients for follow-up, and collecting, recording, and filing clinical data.

Responsibilities:
Documents on case report forms Retrieve medical records (electronic and/or paper records) May collect clinical data such as vital signs, EKG recordings, weights, etc. Perform phlebotomy as directed by the study plan and transport specimens to the laboratory Accurately enter data in sponsor portals Maintain accurate files and organized records for sponsor audits Collect specimens, process, store and ship blood/tissue specimens as required by study. Collect source documents File and pull study records as needed by physicians, research nurse and study monitors Schedule study appointments for patients Triage research-related phone calls to the proper source Responsible for long-term follow-up Performs other functions as required.
Qualifications:
HS/GED 2
yrs of research experience; or Medical Assistant (prefer certified)/Laboratory Technician with at least 6 months of clinical experience.
