  • $60,000 The External Scholarships and Undergraduate Research Center seeks a Senior Staff Assistant to provide critical operational and programmatic support to the office's undergraduate research program coordination, fellowship and undergraduate research advising, campus outreach, marketing and communications, and Accessibility compliance.
The successful candidate will collaborate with campus partners to ensure high-quality service and program delivery for all of ESURC's constituents. The External Scholarships and Undergraduate Research Center develops, recognizes, and awards undergraduate research; promotes and assists students with locating and applying for external scholarships; and provides outreach and advising to undergraduate students, faculty, and the broader campus community. These objectives lay the foundations for providing a transformative learning community that prepares students for advanced education, careers, and purposeful living. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Program Coordination, BUPNUR Summer and Spring programs: Management of faculty recruitment, student recruitment, and student applications for Spring and Summer BUPNUR program cycles Management of BUPNUR student stipends, faculty evaluations, and surveys Manage BUPNUR budget and financial transfers Assist, as needed, with stipend distribution Development of faculty and student stories and outcomes to be shared with external and campus audiences Coordinate management of program's promotional resources and other promotional activities Data management and Assessment of the program's outcomes for grant proposals, donors and reports Represent BUPNUR and Binghamton at undergraduate research conferences and workshops as needed/desired
ESURC Office Staff Support:
Lead Accessibility compliance Lead office marketing and communications coordination Assist at Summer Orientations and Admitted Student Open Houses Contribute to ESURC office's positive work environment of inclusion and mutual support Maintain professional standards of behavior, appearance, and ethics in the office and when representing the office Provide assistance with strategic planning Maintain contacts with campus offices to support initiatives and working collegially with all constituents and relevant parties within and outside of the university UG Research Advising and Student/Faculty Outreach Provide 4-6 hours/week of scheduled undergraduate research advising each semester Conduct presentations, info sessions, and outreach on behalf of the office as needed UG Research Assessment, Reporting, Marketing Contribute to ESURC Weave Reporting and a new Annual Undergraduate Research Report Contribute to new story-telling initiatives around UG research and creative activity Awards Selection Coordination Provide coordination for Chancellor's, President's, and Provost's Awards nomination processes and selection committees Coordinate President's Awards Luncheon Serve on evaluation committee for URA and UCPF awards
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree 2+ years experience in higher education administrative offices Demonstrated competency working in Google, Microsoft, Canva, and Adobe software suites Demonstrated commitment to and technical proficiency in meeting accessibility standards Ability to effectively, professionally, and tactfully interact and communicate, both orally and in writing, with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and the public Effective organization skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
Experience in an Academic Affairs administrative office Experience with undergraduate research (personal or professional) Familiarity with national fellowships and scholarships Experience with records and database management Experience with student advising Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
