Postdoctoral Fellow - OCD, Anxiety & ERP Specialty Clinic Bio Behavioral Institute Great Neck, NY Full-time | 12-month postdoctoral fellowship
Compensation:
$60,000-$75,000 annually, depending on prior training, clinical experience, fellowship structure, and long-term career-track fit Bio Behavioral Institute is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow for a 12-month clinical psychology fellowship focused on the evidence-based treatment of OCD, anxiety disorders, and related conditions . Bio is a nationally recognized specialty clinic with more than 40 years of experience treating OCD and related disorders, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, school refusal, mood disorders, and related clinical presentations. Our clinicians provide empirically supported treatment including Exposure and Response Prevention, CBT, ACT, DBT-informed treatment, in-vivo exposure, family work, and intensive outpatient programming . This fellowship is designed for a postdoctoral clinician who wants advanced, hands-on training in specialty private practice, with particular emphasis on real-world exposure-based treatment, intensive outpatient care, and higher-acuity OCD/anxiety presentations. About the Fellowship Postdoctoral fellows receive supervised clinical experience across outpatient and intensive outpatient levels of care. Fellows will have the opportunity to work with patients presenting with OCD, anxiety, avoidance-based difficulties, school refusal, body-focused concerns, mood symptoms, and related comorbidities. This is a strong fit for someone who wants to become highly competent in OCD/anxiety specialty care and is interested in building a longer-term career in evidence-based private practice.
Clinical Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Providing CBT and ERP for OCD, anxiety, and related disorders Participating in intensive outpatient treatment for patients with moderate to severe symptoms Conducting in-vivo, office-based, home-based, and community-based exposures Providing individual therapy, skills-based interventions, and family/collateral work Co-leading or participating in skills groups and OCD support programming Collaborating with supervisors and multidisciplinary team members Participating in case consultation, didactics, and clinical supervision Contributing to protocol development, research, writing, or program improvement projects as appropriate Training Experience Fellows receive supervision and training from licensed psychologists with deep expertise in OCD, anxiety, and evidence-based treatment.
Training areas may include:
Exposure and Response Prevention Advanced CBT for anxiety and OCD-spectrum disorders ACT and DBT-informed interventions Treatment of school refusal, panic, social anxiety, avoidance, and family accommodation Intensive outpatient treatment models Home and community-based exposures Case conceptualization for complex OCD/anxiety presentations Private practice operations and specialty-care development Long-Term Career Track This fellowship is designed for applicants who are looking for more than a one-year training placement. Bio Behavioral Institute invests heavily in postdoctoral training, supervision, and specialty development, and we are especially interested in candidates who are looking for a longer-term clinical home. Historically, fellows have often continued with Bio after the postdoctoral year and transitioned into staff psychologist roles. We are especially interested in applicants who are open to a multi-year path with Bio after fellowship , with continued growth in OCD, anxiety, ERP, IOP, and specialty private practice. Fellows who successfully complete the postdoctoral year and are a strong clinical and cultural fit may be invited to continue as staff psychologists with increased compensation, continued mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications Applicants should have:
PhD or PsyD in clinical, counseling, or school psychology Completion of doctoral internship by the start date Eligibility for a New York State limited permit Strong interest in CBT, ERP, OCD, anxiety disorders, and evidence-based treatment Prior CBT/ERP experience preferred Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, organization, and warmth Interest in working with patients who may require intensive or higher-frequency care Interest in building a longer-term clinical home and continuing with Bio after the fellowship year Openness to a multi-year career path following postdoctoral training Compensation and Benefits $60,000-$75,000 annual stipend , depending on prior training, clinical experience, fellowship structure, and long-term career-track fit Medical insurance Stipend/support for outside trainings or conferences Supervision toward licensure Research publication and protocol development opportunities Potential pathway to continued employment after fellowship Schedule This is a full-time, 40-hour/week position based in Great Neck, NY . Some evening availability may be required to meet patient scheduling needs.
