Schedule:
Part-Time, up to 29 hours per week
Position Summary:
The Clerical / Research Assistant provides administrative and front-office support to the Clinical Research Department, helping to ensure a positive experience for study participants while maintaining efficient day-to-day operations. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients and supports research staff through scheduling, document management, and general office coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the front desk representative for the Clinical Research Department. Schedule study visits and coordinate transportation/car service for participants as needed. Confirm upcoming appointments and maintain accurate scheduling records. Assist with administrative tasks related to invoicing and financial documentation. Scan and upload visit documentation into electronic records systems. Manage faxing, correspondence with primary care providers and referring physicians, and medical record requests. Act as a concierge for study participants during on-site visits, ensuring a welcoming and seamless experience. Prepare, organize, and maintain research-related files and office supplies. Provide general clerical and administrative support to research coordinators and department leadership. Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned to support the operational needs of the research department.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or prior healthcare/administrative experience preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Prior experience in a medical office, clinical research setting, or healthcare administration is a plus. This position is ideal for an organized, patient-focused individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and contributing to the success of clinical research programs.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
