The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology Oncology is a full-time Research Associate in the Leukemia and Drug Development Laboratory (LDDL). This individual will primarily help conduct research in the area of hematology. Essential Functions Contribute to collective team effort. Document and organize research results and data according to NIH's preferred good laboratory management practices (LabArchives) and UCLIMS. Assist with the coordination of research studies in hematology. Make independent contributions to projects and studies based on evidence-based literature. Perform statistical and graphical analysis of data, interpretation of data, and validity of testing using FCS Express or relevant flow cytometry software. Maintain timely project goals, deadlines, and studies for contributions to publications and grant funding applications. Apply scientific skills and knowledge to demonstrate technical capabilities of flow cytometry. Analyze and communicate results and data analysis from in a timely manner from flow cytometry experiments.Molecular biology techniques desired include:
General cell culture techniques, Processing human biospecimens, Tissue culture and related wet lab techniques (i.e. western blotting, immune functional assays, cell viability assays), Next Gen Sequencing technologies, and Some animal handling and tissue processing. Required Education Bachelor's Degree required in a related field (i.e. computer science, data science, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, etc.). Required Experience May require experience with specialized software programs such as LabArchives, Graphpad, and Endnote. Additional Qualifications Considered Three to five years of in-depth knowledge of translational research laboratory practices.
