The graduate assistant will strengthen these skills through student engagement, program planning, recruitment, interviewing prospective scholars, and day-to-day program operations. Critical thinking and effective student engagement are central to this role. Through mentoring, programming, recruitment, and communication, the graduate assistant will support scholars' academic and professional development. Program Purpose The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program prepares eligible undergraduate students for graduate education, with an emphasis on doctoral study. The program provides research experiences, graduate school preparation, academic and professional development, mentoring, and other services designed to help scholars successfully pursue advanced degrees. Responsibilities The graduate assistant will support the overall operation of the McNair Scholars Program, including:

Scholar Support & Mentoring:
Mentor scholars and assist with graduate school preparation, academic and professional development, and connection to appropriate university resources.Recruitment:
Support recruitment and outreach efforts, including communicating with prospective scholars and participating in interviews.Programming:
Assist with planning, coordinating, and facilitating workshops, events, research-related activities, and other program initiatives.Social Media & Communications:
Manage program social media and develop digital content highlighting scholar accomplishments, research experiences, graduate school preparation, program activities, and recruitment opportunities.Records & Program Tracking:
Maintain accurate student records and assist with tracking scholar participation, services, and program activities.Campus & Community Engagement:
Communicate with faculty, university departments, and external organizations to support scholar and program needs.Program Operations:
Provide administrative and operational support for program initiatives and other responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications Demonstrate the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with others. Candidate must be enrolled at Gannon University in a graduate program full-time. Additionally, candidate must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00. The qualified candidate will demonstrate evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to be self-motivated. Some travel is required.
