Remote, with Washington, DC office available The Joe and Jill Biden Presidential Library Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking a Database and Research Associate to join a dynamic team at an exciting moment as it fundraises to establish the Biden Presidential Center in Delaware. The Joe and Jill Biden Presidential Library Foundation will advance the enduring values of public service, empathy, and integrity that have defined the lives of President Biden and Dr. Biden, and serve as a living institution dedicated to education, public policy, and civic engagement.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
This position manages database integrity, gift processing, reporting, and prospect research for a growing development team. The Database and Research Associate role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage system protocols and procedures.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Management Manage all aspects of gift processing, including accurate entry of gift acknowledgement and receipts Prepare queries, mailing lists, exports, and reports to support fundraising, stewardship, and organizational needs Build and maintain event registration forms, track registrations, monitor attendance, and prepare name tag lists and check‑in materials Partner with the Finance and Operations team to ensure accurate financial reconciliation and reporting for all incoming gifts Oversee the integrity, consistency, and ongoing maintenance of donor and prospect data within the development database Implement data management best practices to ensure the reliability of all donor records and analytical reporting Support Development leadership in maintaining a clean donor pipeline and move‑management tracking system Prospect Research Research, compile, and interpret data on prospective donors, including evaluating giving capabilities and interests, guiding development staff with recommendations as needed Synthesize findings into concise, high-quality donor profiles and briefings Support Major Gift Officer(s) in qualification efforts Map relationships and networks linking key stakeholders to prospective supporters
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain active knowledge of the Foundation's mission, programs, activities, and fundraising priorities Stay up to date of philanthropic trends
QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience 2-4 years of data management or fundraising operations experience required, in a nonprofit environment preferred Deep understanding of donor segmentation and creation of complex queries and reports Experience with donor stewardship practices and management Skills Precise attention to detail and high accuracy to maintain data integrity and hygiene Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills Ability to turn raw data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a start-up environment while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines Demonstrated analytical skills related to complex donor research and data analysis Must have 1-2 years expertise with Salesforce
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience, with a range of $55,000 - $65,000 The Foundation provides medical, dental, and vision coverage with 100% of monthly premiums covered by the Foundation for employees, and 80% of monthly premiums for spouses, domestic partners, and dependent children All employees are eligible for 15 days of paid time off plus paid holidays and 15 days of paid sick leave The Foundation provides 16 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing and non-birthing parents The Foundation offers employees a 401(k) retirement plan with a safe harbor matching contribution up to 5% of salary The Foundation offers Foundation-paid life, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance to employees All roles offer flexibility with remote and hybrid work options.
