No Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No Purpose of Position This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position. Duties & Responsibilities The Paleontology Undergraduate Research Assistant will assist Dr. Ullmann and his doctoral candidate with the subsampling of modern, naturally-weathered caribou antler bone samples for three types of geochemical and molecular biology analyses. Help image the specimens and process and interpret the resulting mass spectrometry data to determine how the bone samples were geochemically altered in their early stages of decay. Minimum Requirements Familiarity with Excel would be considered advantageous. No prior training is required, all methodological training will be provided by Dr. Ullmann and his doctoral candidate after hiring. Applicants should be undergraduates enrolled in-person in Geology or Geological Engineering as a portion of their degree, either as a major or minor.
