Job Description

Under general supervision, responsible for the operation of a specialized educational/social science research area within a recognized unit. Assists with research project tasks to include recruitment, data collection, and the day to day operations of research projects. Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner. Demonstrated ability to monitor important and complex projects concurrently. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes/other email software. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, to include writing and preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence. Assists in conducting research projects according to the research plan/project. Performs duties in support of research project such as scheduling research subjects, obtaining research data, organizing data, researching records and entering data in a research database. Assist in conducting literature reviews and maintains information. Assists in the maintenance of information and literature, and keeps current on literature and developments in the areas of research. Prepares materials for publication. Trains and guides other lower-level research support personnel in techniques; explains and demonstrates instrument capabilities, operations, limitations and outcomes. Performs all other duties as assigned.
