JOB DESCRIPTION
- This position is designed for post-baccalaureate individuals participating in a UTMB post-baccalaureate research education program with major responsibilities of research and academic work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- + Learns and masters basic laboratory techniques taught in a classroom-setting or in a researchlaboratory to gain proficiency for performing laboratory or computational research + Works with research faculty to define a research plan and project and carries out research ondefined project(s); Reports results of the research in written and verbal reports + Performs research work which may comprise of laboratory work or computational/data-basedwork under the direction of responsible faculty + Attends any and all scheduled meetings with exceptions for excused absences, and participatesin activities that include individual development planning and writing assignments + Attends scheduled meetings with mentoring team members including graduate students andpostdoctoral members + Student tutoring and academic skills building as related to professional training + Literature and database research as needed for the research + Adheres to all policies and regulations of UTMB + Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure + Performs related duties as required to fulfill personal academic requirements •
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in science or related field.
SALARY RANGE
- Commensurate with experience.
