Job Description Assistant Director - Research GIA Lubbock 46370BR Position Description Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and/or program. Requires independent judgment and application of established policies and procedures. Works under general supervision with evaluation based on overall results obtained. Major/Essential Functions Creation of PI's scientific aims into operational plans, SOPs, and training materials. Writing grant sections, regulatory documents, and reports to sponsors and leadership. Supervise, train, and evaluate coordinators, research assistants, and student staff. Utilization of sound judgment in handling protocol deviations, adverse events, and confidentiality issues. Work across departments and institutions and with community partners. Utilize Microsoft Office and data or project management tools with statistical software (SPSS, R, or SAS). Assist in the oversight of federal research regulations and human subjects protections (45 CFR 46, Good Clinical Practice, HIPAA), preparing IRB submissions, amendments, and continuing reviews. Create extramural grant submissions, preferably NIH, including budgets, bio sketches, letters of support, and required forms. Manage study timelines, recruitment and retention targets, and progress reporting across concurrent projects. Proficiency with REDCap or a comparable electronic data capture system Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field plus three years of related administrative and technical experience OR a combination of education and/or years of experience in the area of specialization or closely related field to equal a minimum of 7 years.
