Work with a group established to substantially enhance the 0-6hr prediction of severe Texas flooding and other types of high-impact weather events through a Warn-on-Forecast strategy. Implement and maintain a real-time Warn-on-Forecast System capability in Texas (WoFS; similar to the same system designed at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). Close collaboration with several State of Texas and National Weather Service partners and some associated travel. Required Qualifications Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a researcher. Should have a record of activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of research. This position requires eligibility to drive TTU vehicles, including a valid U.S. driver license and two years of driving experience. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Sciences.
