Job Description

Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and interested in using data to support Parks and Recreation programs? The City of Hampton is seeking a part-time Research Assistant to support research, data analysis, financial recreation software, and accreditation-related projects. Working independently under the supervision of the Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services Accreditation Manager, this position will perform research and data entry, export and organize data, prepare reports, and assist with general data analysis to support department operations and accreditation efforts. If you enjoy working with data and turning information into meaningful reports and insights, we'd love to have you join our team!
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or successful completion of GED. One (1) year of experience in clerical, accounting, research, or a closely related experience preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
Additional Requirements:
Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
