Job Description:
Function of Position:
Maintain the general condition of the laboratory, prep room, and stock room spaces, including assisting with routine organization and upkeep. Support the setup and transition of laboratory experiments as needed, and assist with general lab setup, maintenance, and preparation of materials and equipment. This position may be funded through Federal Work Study (FWS) and/or departmental budgetary funds, depending on eligibility and departmental need. Federal Work Study applicants must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to employment consideration. If you are unsure of your FWS eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying. Applicants must include their M# in any correspondence with the Financial Aid Office.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Help in daily upkeep of department rooms (cleaning, organizing lab stations, check and refilling office supplies, etc?) Counting and checking of kits for ENR competitions and hands-on projects Assist in parts of PHY lab setup and takedown Assist in maintaining organization of lab equipment and supplies in 07-103 and 07-105 Assisting with 3D printing (e.g., removing parts from 3D printer and removing support material)

Required Qualifications:
Completion of ENR 153 or ENR 157 or ENR 161; Completion of physics-lab course (PHY 131 or higher) Must be currently enrolled as a student at Monroe Community College Must maintain satisfactory academic progress and be in good academic standing Federal Work Study eligibility is required for FWS-funded positions (must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to hire)
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of
ENR 153, ENR 157, ENR
161, and PHY 161 to ensure familiarity with the department and kits for hands-on competitions Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
