Description :
The Natural Science Department within the College of Science and Technology (CST) is seeking a dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Federal Work-Study student to assist with a variety of administrative and operational tasks. This role is essential to supporting the department's day-to-day functions and may include occasional assistance to the Nursing Department.
Primary Duties:
Provide student support in the tutor lab Provide front-desk support by answering phones, greeting visitors, and managing mail and document distribution Assist with organizing paperwork, maintaining a clean and orderly office space, and performing general clerical tasks Support departmental events, meetings, and lab room activities through setup, coordination, and material delivery Perform additional administrative tasks as assign
Qualifications:
Must be a current UHD student Must be enrolled in at least 6 semester credit hours Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail Preferred (but not required): Interest or coursework in a STEM-related field (e.g., biology, computer science, mathematics, etc.) Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced office environment All positions at the University of Houston-System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.
