Industrial & Marine Tank Cleaning Location:
Mobile, Alabama Job Type:
Full-Time Compensation:
Competitive salary + performance-based incentives We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to build, launch, and grow a new industrial and marine tank cleaning operation in Mobile, Alabama. This is not simply a position managing an existing crew. We are looking for someone who has previous hands-on experience in the tank cleaning industry and understands what it takes to build an operation from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have experience with shipyard, marine vessel, fuel, oil, chemical, industrial, or similar tank cleaning operations, including confined-space work and the safety requirements associated with this type of environment. The Opportunity The successful candidate will have significant autonomy to help develop this division, including:
  • Establishing the complete tank cleaning operation
  • Identifying required equipment, tooling, PPE, and support resources
  • Developing operating procedures and safety protocols
  • Recruiting, training, and managing tank cleaning crews
  • Managing confined-space entry and associated safety requirements
  • Establishing production expectations and job-costing procedures
  • Working directly with shipyard management, customers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Estimating and planning tank cleaning projects
  • Ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably
  • Helping identify additional customers and opportunities throughout the Gulf Coast
  • Developing the operation into a sustainable and scalable business division Experience We Are Looking For Candidates should have meaningful previous experience in one or more of the following:
  • Marine or shipyard tank cleaning
  • Industrial tank cleaning
  • Fuel or petroleum tank cleaning
  • Vessel or barge cleaning
  • Confined-space industrial services
  • Environmental or industrial cleaning operations Previous management experience is strongly preferred; however, we are particularly interested in individuals who truly understand the tank cleaning business and have the ability and ambition to build an operation.
Knowledge of OSHA requirements, confined-space entry, respiratory protection, hazardous environments, gas monitoring, ventilation, waste handling, and industrial safety procedures is highly desirable. Who This Position Is For This opportunity is best suited for someone who has spent years in this industry and believes they could successfully run an operation if given the resources and authority to do so. We are an established company with the equipment, financial resources, infrastructure, and existing shipyard relationships necessary to support the right individual. For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to build something rather than simply take another job. Compensation will be structured competitively and may include performance-based incentives tied to the growth and profitability of the division. If you have successfully managed or helped build tank cleaning operations in the past, we would like to speak with you. Please apply with a resume and a brief description of your direct experience with marine or industrial tank cleaning operations.
