Responsibilities include managing the budget for assigned areas, allocating resources, monitoring expenditures, coordinating daily work activities, providing technical guidance to staff, monitoring work progress and quality, and preparing operational reports as needed. This position may be assigned to one of the four WRF locations:

Rowland Rd, #499 Austell, GA 30168 Essential Functions Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Coordinates work activities at and assigned water reclamation facility: prioritizes work activities in order to meet objectives; ensures subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete the assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff to assist with complex and problem situations and provide technical expertise; and provides progress and activity reports to County management as requested. Ensures all work activities at assigned facility are in compliance with all local, state and federal water and wastewater regulations and rules: reviews and monitors all process flows, sampling procedures, and emissions; analyzes test results, trend data and process reports; updates and maintains chemical inventory; and initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations or violations. Oversees daily operations of assigned facility: ensures all critical and essential equipment assets are functional; ensures completion of all maintenance activities and work orders; monitors operational performance; conducts plant inspections; and maintains all related documentation. Ensures adherence to established safety procedures: monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals; oversees the posting of proper signage for confined space and chemical hazards; ensures maintenance, availability and accessibility of Material Safety Data Sheets; conducts safety meetings and safety inspections; and maintains all related documentation. Ensures proper training of assigned staff: develops and implements On-the-Job training and safety training: ensures staff attends the continuing education courses; and maintains all training documentation. Develops and implements budget for assigned areas: allocates department resources; monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budget; and maintains related documentation. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, or related field required; supplemented by five years of progressively responsible experience in managing water reclamation facilities, to include lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Licenses and Certifications Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain State of Georgia Class I Wastewater license. Physical Abilities Tasks require the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that generally involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds). Sensory Requirements Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
