Job Description

Position:
Stormwater Technician Pay Range:
$19.00 to $21.00 per hour
Location:
Richland Soil & Water Conservation District Employment Status:
Full-Time - Non-exempt. Position open until filled.
Office Hours:
8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, with an half hour (unpaid) lunch. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
Overall Responsibilities:
The Stormwater Technician is an entry-level position responsible for day-to-day inspection of active construction sites and associated compliance reporting to assist partner communities with regulatory requirements related to pollution prevention. P rimary
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement Richland County Stormwater Management and Sediment Regulations through plan review, fee collection, permitting, field inspections and enforcement.
  • Perform periodic inspections of permitted sites, document site conditions and compliance activities in accordance with Ohio EPA's NPDES Construction General Permit.
  • Prepare and deliver written reports, using mobile applications, for permitted sites.
  • Provide technical information to contractors, consultants and community officials regarding Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3's), Erosion & Sediment Control Plan implementation, stormwater Best Management Practices, standard operation procedures, conservation planning concepts and Clean Water Act responsibilities.
  • Combination of office and outdoor field work.
  • Work outside in inclement weather conditions, over uneven terrain with exposure to various and hazardous insects, plants, animals and environmental conditions.
  • Work scheduled shifts for the public stormwater permit room and office.
  • Assist with the District's education and outreach campaigns as needed.
  • Recordkeeping and maintenance of files.
  • Log collected data into the District GIS database.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements or Qualifications:
