Description As a top 14 transportation firm, HMB has some of the largest infrastructure projects in the country. We're looking for a Water Resources CAD Technician to support the design and delivery of stormwater, drainage, and water resources projects, gaining meaningful project exposure from day one. Key Responsibilities Working under the direction of Professional Engineers and senior staff to develop CAD drawings, plans, and construction documents for water resources and drainage projects. Assisting with the design and development of stormwater management systems, storm sewer networks, culverts, detention/retention facilities, channels, and related drainage infrastructure. Preparation of accurate plan sheets, design details, profiles, cross-sections, and quantity takeoffs. Developing existing and proposed grading, drainage layouts, and utility coordination within design models. Coordination with clients, subconsultants, utility providers, and multidisciplinary teams throughout project development. Supporting field reviews, site data collection, and as-built documentation when needed. Assisting in the preparation of permit exhibits and agency submittal packages. Contributing to project deliverables while supporting schedules, budgets, and CAD standards. Working collaboratively with roadway, structural, geotechnical, and other engineering disciplines to support project success. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Minimum 2+ years of CAD experience, preferably within water resources, drainage, or civil/transportation projects. Associate's degree or technical certificate in drafting, civil engineering technology, or a related field preferred. Proficiency with CAD and civil design software (MicroStation, OpenRoads/OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar tools). Understanding of drainage and water resources design principles, plan production standards, and applicable design criteria. Detail-oriented individual with strong technical and organizational skills. Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and standard industry software. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments and meet project deadlines. Strong oral and written communication skills.
