Starting at $90,000+ (based on experience) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Landfill Manager to oversee the daily operations, compliance, and performance of a Construction & Demolition (C&D) landfill. This role is responsible for managing site activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong operational leadership experience, understands trucking/logistics, and can balance production with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Oversee daily landfill operations including waste placement, compaction, and cover Manage incoming material flow, traffic control, and tipping operations Coordinate with haulers to maximize efficiency and throughput Ensure proper grading, drainage, and airspace utilization Monitor performance metrics such as cycle times and volume Environmental & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and permits Manage inspections, reporting, and recordkeeping Oversee stormwater, erosion control, and environmental systems Coordinate with third-party environmental consultants as needed Lead response efforts for compliance-related issues Team Leadership Supervise and develop site personnel including operators and support staff Set productivity expectations and enforce safety standards Promote a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance Equipment & Asset Management Oversee heavy equipment operations (dozers, compactors, excavators, loaders) Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs Ensure efficient equipment utilization Customer & Stakeholder Relations Maintain relationships with customers, contractors, and haulers Address operational or service-related concerns Qualifications 5+ years of experience in landfill operations, heavy civil, quarry, or similar environment Prior supervisory or management experience required Strong understanding of trucking/logistics and heavy equipment operations Familiarity with C&D material handling and disposal practices Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes Strong leadership and communication skills Preferred Experience Experience managing C&D landfill operations Knowledge of airspace management and site development Experience with scale systems and operational tracking tools Compensation & Benefits Weekly pay Profit sharing program Paid holidays and PTO Medical, dental, and vision coverage Short-term disability insurance Company-paid life insurance
