Alabama A&M University (AAMU)'s Forestry, Ecology, and Wildlife Program invites applications, especially from women and underrepresented groups, for the position of Post-Doctoral Scientist of Forest and/or Avian Ecology. This is a 12-month appointment funded through USDA for the collaborate research of USDA Forest Service, Tennessee State University, and AAMU. We seek a candidate committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and experienced in field research, professional publication, interactions with partners, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Examples of Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducting forest and/or avian ecology research at Bankhead National Forest. Supervising graduate and undergraduate students working on the project Interacting with partners including federal and state agencies, private land owners, and university faculty and students. Developing proposals for continuing or new projects Developing and management research database, performing statistically analysis, and develop manuscripts for publications. Typical Qualifications Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.): Ph.D in forestry, ecology, wildlife, biology, natural resources, a closely related discipline, emphasizing field-based terrestrial or wildlife ecology and forest ecosystems management. A valid driver's license.
