Join Our Team as a Part-Time Zoologist! Are you passionate about wildlife, conservation, and creating unforgettable guest experiences? Palm Beach Zoo is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Wildlife Care & Conservation team! As a Part-Time Zoologist , you'll play a meaningful role in caring for our animal ambassadors and inspiring our community every day. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, mission-driven environment where no two days are the same—and where your work directly contributes to protecting wildlife and connecting people with nature.
What You'll Do:
Keep animal habitats clean, safe, and thriving Prepare diets and assist with medication under staff guidance Observe, record, and report on animal health and behavior Participate in training, enrichment, and wellbeing programs Conduct rounds to ensure top-tier animal care and safety Deliver engaging guest talks and support education programs Handle ambassador animals for events and encounters
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma required; degrees in Zoology, Biology, or Conservation preferred Previous animal care experience (paid or volunteer) Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in the South Florida climate Comfortable with hands-on, physical animal care Strong communication, teamwork, and guest service skills Dependable, detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to learn
