Position is responsible for the coordination, facilitation, and management of all Animal Services Placement Programs, including adoption, foster, and rescue placement. Position reports to the Shelter Supervisor for work assignments, direction and supervision. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

1. Develops, implements, and manages animal placement initiatives. 2. Manages, recruits, and trains new adopters and fosters; refines and develops training initiatives. 3. Plans, oversees, and participates in offsite adoption and foster recruitment events. 4. Creates and maintains off-site adoption calendar and schedule to maximize public access to adoptable animals. 5. Performs a variety of animal care and enrichment duties including, but not limited to, transporting animals, animal care and feeding, socializing and grooming, all to increase adoptability. 6. Cultivates and maintains partnerships and collaborations within the community to promote adoption, fostering, healthy pet ownership and the human-animal bond. 7. Implements and oversees foster care program for underage animals and those inappropriately housed and cared for in a shelter environment. 8. Evaluates adoption and foster placements and makes recommendations to ensure the delivery of quality services. 9. Develops and maintains strong partnerships with local, regional and national rescues to ensure appropriate placements. 10. Coordinates, updates, and maintains current and relevant information on website, Facebook, and other social media outlets to increase adoption, foster and rescue efforts.
