LegaSea Aquarium & The Reptarium a Zoological Association of America (ZAA) accredited facility is seeking an enthusiastic Animal Educator to join our team! In this dynamic role, you will lead engaging presentations, private tours, birthday parties, and off-site "Zoo 2 You" traveling events featuring reptiles, mammals, and marine life. No prior experience working with exotic animals is required we provide complete hands-on training! If you love public speaking, excel at working with kids, and are eager to work alongside sloths, capybaras, snakes, and sharks, this is the ultimate entry-level wildlife job.

Key Responsibilities Educational Presentations:

Host energetic tours, birthday parties, field trips, and private events across our facility. Mobile Zoo Programs ("Zoo 2 You"): Conduct off-site educational presentations at schools, daycare centers, private events, and community venues.

Public Engagement:

Interact with visitors during open hours, answering questions and facilitating safe animal encounters. "Edutainment": Combine education with entertainment to create fun, memorable, and high-energy guest experiences.

Animal Care Support:

Master species facts to educate guests accurately while assisting zookeepers with feeding, care, and habitat maintenance as needed. Qualifications & Requirements No prior animal handling experience required comprehensive on-the-job training provided. Fun, high-energy personality with strong public speaking skills and infectious enthusiasm. Passion for working with people of all ages, especially children. Comfortable working around reptiles (snakes, lizards, turtles), mammals (binturongs, capybaras, sloths), and exotic aquatic life (sharks, stingrays). Self-starter with high attention to detail, strong punctuality, and leadership potential. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Work performed primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor events depending on weather. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during public hours and scheduled presentations. Ability to lift and handle up to 50-100 lbs (to safely assist with equipment and larger animal ambassadors).
