Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Farmhand to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and ensuring the health and productivity of livestock, going to animal encounter events with guests, communicating with guests at encounter events, handing exotic and farm animals. Your enthusiasm for animals, outdoor work, mechanical skills, and passion will contribute to a thriving team and animal environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your animal expertise while working in a vibrant and fun outdoor setting for on site animal encounters as well as off site events for animal encounters. Must be 18 years old and up Duties Assist with handling animals at encounters, helping with guests, hauling livestock and livestock management, including feeding, watering, grooming, and health monitoring of animals such as exotics and other farm animals. Haul trailers and drive a truck (provided) to events for encounters as well as handling the animals and attending to guests at events. Being a helper during animal encounters and talking to guests. Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on farm equipment, check truck and trailer before animal encounter events. Handle manual tasks such as animal handling, heavy lifting, and general maintenance in accordance with safety standards. Follow safety protocols during all activities to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members. Experience Prior farm experience or background in animals is a plus. Supervising experience or leadership roles on a farm or similar outdoor work environment is a plus. Proficiency in operating and driving trucks, trailers, tractors, forklifts, power tools, and heavy equipment is essential. Knowledge of animal husbandry practices including livestock handling and animal care techniques. Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment , maintenance operations, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while adhering to safety standards in production environments.
