Aug 3, 2026 Job Description Position Criteria Valid State of Iowa teaching license. 5-12 All Sciences OR 5-12 Biology OR 5-12 Chemistry Previous classroom teaching experience at the 10-12th grade level, preferred Previous experience teaching Biology and Chemistry, preferred Performance Criteria Utilize organizational and communication skills. Create and maintain healthy relationships with students and staff. Demonstrate flexibility, high levels of motivation and enthusiasm when working with high school learners. Demonstrate an understanding of the elements of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) and be able to apply that understanding to a team situation. Understand and apply in professional practice the Waukee Framework for Meeting the Needs of All Students. Understand and experience in using multiple teaching methods: co-teaching, collaborating, whole/small group and individualized instruction. Commit to differentiating instruction for learners. Commit to meeting the needs of diverse learners, including all special populations. Commit to ongoing professional growth and development as described in the Iowa Professional Development Standards and support of the Iowa Teaching Standards as the foundation from which to build that ongoing growth plan. Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to implement the MTSS process. Utilize developmentally appropriate assessments for learning. Articulate oral and written communications. Maintain accurate standards based grades and provide measurable and adequate feedback on student work. Record of recent professional learning and knowledge of current research Understanding of formative assessment and evidence of using data to adapt to individual needs of students of all ability levels Participate in professional development.
