Role Overview The Scientist I is responsible for independent method development, sample testing, and method qualification support for analytical methods for gene therapy products. Key Responsibilities Independently design, execute, and interpret studies for development of analytical methods for AAV products. Author documents in support of analytical development activities. Review ELN entries for other group members as needed. Routinely execute test methods in support of process development and development vector characterization. Support Quality Control with qualification of analytical test methods and identify needs for release testing. Collaborate with other scientists and routinely present data. Perform other duties as necessary. Experience & Skills and Work Environment Experience & Skills Degree in relevant discipline plus working experience in a pharmaceutical/ biotechnology or CRO laboratory setting: Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of work experience Master's degree with 2+ years of work experience PhD degree or equivalent with 0+ years of work experience Experience with executing and developing separations methods (primarily HPLC), plate-based methods (i.e. ELISA and activity assays), and/or PCR assays for AAV gene. therapies or protein therapeutics State of the industry analytical knowledge. Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Work Environment Primarily a laboratory setting May involve standing, sitting, and using laboratory equipment for extended periods. Some lifting of equipment or materials may be required. Work may involve exposure to chemicals or biological materials; proper handling and disposal procedures must be followed.
