Seasonal Food Truck Crew Member

Buttonwood Grove Winery is a family owned and operated winery on Cayuga Lake. Buttonwood Grove winery has established a reputation for producing some of the most noteworthy wines in the Finger Lakes, as well as hosting exceptional events. When the unique opportunity arose to purchase the beautiful Buttonwood property in early 2014, Dave and Melissa Pittard leapt at the opportunity. Since their purchase of the winery, they have greatly expanded the vineyards and completed the construction of a new wine-making building, along with upgrades to the on-site cabins and implementation of a full summer music series. In 2017, their efforts led to being awarded the Governor's Cup, designating the 2016 Riesling as the Best Wine in New York State. We are looking for energetic, hardworking individuals to join our Food Truck team for the upcoming season! As a Crew Member, you are the engine that keeps our kitchen running. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, loves great food, and thrives in a team-oriented setting overlooking the beautiful Cayuga Lake.

Key Responsibilities Prep Work:

Assist with daily food preparation, including chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, and preparing signature sauces following established recipes.

Service & Assembly:

Build and plate orders with speed and precision during high-volume service windows.

Money Handling:

Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, process credit card and cash transactions accurately, and provide friendly customer service at the window.

Sanitization & Safety:

Maintain a spotless workspace. This includes constant "clean-as-you-go" practices, washing dishes, and following all health department food safety protocols.

Opening/Closing:

Assist with the setup and breakdown of the truck, including restocking inventory, wiping down all surfaces, and ensuring the unit is secured at the end of the shift.

Requirements Efficiency:

Ability to work quickly and stay organized under pressure during busy lunch or event rushes.

Stamina:

Ability to stand for long periods and work in the unique environment of a food truck (which can be warm in the summer months!).

Reliability:

Consistent attendance is a must, especially for weekend shifts and special events.

Team Player:

A positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with both kitchen staff and winery guests.

Basic Math:

Comfort with basic mental math for quick and accurate money handling.

Lifting:
