Commensurate with experience and/or contractual requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in the appropriate field (K-3) Valid Michigan Teacher Certification Preferred Qualifications Successful teaching experience in a public school district, either through regular employment, student teaching, long-term substitute teaching, or internship Desired Characteristics Passion for working collaboratively with children, families, and staff Strong relationship-building and communication skills supporting a team approach to education Eagerness to approach problems from new and different perspectives Ability to use highly effective instruction and assessments to create a cycle of student success Growth mindset focused on constructive interactions High degree of professional ethics Job Description Create a welcoming classroom environment for all students Demonstrate exceptional classroom management skills, leading to a respectful and cooperative learning atmosphere in the classroom Plan and deliver effective, engaging, age appropriate, and rigorous lessons Differentiate instruction and learning activities while holding all students to high expectations Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a healthy, growth-focused campus culture Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents and families Maintain records as required by District policy
