Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Secondary Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position performs post-fabrication finishing, assembling, and inspection of metal parts to ensure they meet exact specifications. Responsibilities include using hand/power tools to debur, grind, drill, tap, countersink and installing hardware into parts, as well as checking quality with measuring tools and gauges. They often work from prints or sketches, maintaining high accuracy in assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
Secondary Operations:
Perform drilling, tapping, grinding, sanding, de-burring, and buffing to finish parts.
Assembly:
Rivet, bolt, or assemble complex sheet metal components.
Inspection & Quality Control:
Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to check parts for accuracy and defects.
Machine Operation/Setup:
Set up and operate machinery such as belt fed deburring machine (Timesaver), drill presses, fasteners (PEM machines), and potentially assist with press brake operations.
Blueprint Reading:
Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications.
Maintenance & Safety:
Maintain a clean workspace, perform routine machine maintenance, and adhere to all safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
Previous manufacturing or metal fabrication experience preferred
Skills:
Ability to read blueprints, proficiency in using hand tools and measuring instruments, and basic math skills.
Physical:
Ability to lift, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Typical Physical Demands:
Lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Handling materials and tools safely.
