Responsibilities Operate tractor-trailers with automat transmission across local and regional long-haul routes, ensuring timely deliveries. Safely load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary. Drive different types of trailers including dry van and refrigerated trailers to accommodate diverse cargo needs. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations during every trip. Plan efficient routes for route driving assignments, optimizing delivery schedules while adhering to hours-of-service regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checks on brakes, tires, lights, and load securement. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road. Skills Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL Class A license. Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks confidently and safely. Knowledge of handling dry van and refrigerated trailers. Strong understanding of route planning and route driving best practices for timely deliveries. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with transportation regulations. Experience with various truck types including tractor-trailers used for freight delivery across different industries.
